1st Game of the season for u10s Lions kicks off !!

A great performance from the off for the Lions this morning, the task today was to look at moving the ball forward quickly but making sure we passed to our team mates. We wasted no time in getting on the front foot with Leo & Daniel running onto everything, Toby was winning most of the battles in the middle of the park. Lewis & Alfie were first half rocks in defence and not one shot tested Jayden in goal. The first half goals involved Joe, Leo & Jai who had a good partnership upfront, one goal saw Jai split the defence with a lovely pass for Leo to get onto and slot home!. A quality corner from Joe found Leo at the back post for a great headed goal, Leo returning the favour with a cross-field ball for Joe to coolly slot home first time.
The 2nd half was pretty much the same, with Lewis now moving into the centre & being more involved up front. Lewis (captain for the day) actually scored 4 second half goals...a brilliant return from the great team play.
Joe, Daniel, Jayden all played nice football down the wings and when Alfie was released from defensive duties he took the opportunity to score a brace of goals too!
Well played to all the boys, some of the passing and moving forward together today was just what we asked for, we now need to take the confidence earnt into our next fixture at Home to Horbury.
